Type 1 NEMA enclosures are defined as:

Enclosures constructed for indoor use to provide a degree of protection to personnel against incidental contact with the enclosed equipment & to provide a degree of protection against falling dirt

This NEMA Enclosure is the equivalent of an IEC IP Rating:
IP Equivalent IP Object Size/Type Protected Against IP Protection Level
IP10 1 = Protected against solid foreign objects of 50mm in diameter & greater 0 = Not Protected
